1 month :) still going

So today is 1 month since I started my new eating style. Gotta say I'm proud of myself for coming this far. It's been hard and tough somedays I want to give up. I changed up my whole eating with the help of dear friend Sonja who is helping along the road. My meals consist of 5 small meals a day which is with NO SUGAR, carbs, dairy, salt, oil, all but green veggies, complex carbs, lean meat, NO NUTS, and a gallon of water per day for the next 4-6 weeks. Slowly will add in the other food.

I do cardio 4-5x a week and some weight training in running a longer and farther and if I don't exercise I feel guilty. MY CHEAT DAYS ARE SUNDAYS AND YEA I REWARD MYSELF and prep my meals that day also. My body feels good I feel good and most of my pants are starting to fall :)))) yayyyy. So today was my first way In and in proud to say I dropped 9ibs. :) and I am happy with it.

I still have a lot to go and a lot more to accomplish :) can't wait :)

Week 3 day 1 trying new things

GOOD WEEK IM FEELING REALLY GOOD :) more energy and Guess what?? I took A WheatGrass Shot for the first time :) and outcome I like it very earthy taste but I will continue to get in my shots lol. wheatgrass gives you energy and is good for your digestive system.

What else did I do new that I Love ZUMBAAAAAA OH MY Zumba is awesome almost a week since I been going and not just myself but with my sis inlaw and we Love it WHY BECUZ WE LOVE TO SWEAT :) hehehe. Feel like stomach is going down I still do my run/walk in the mornings and my weights and then ZUMBA At night . I don't look like I changed but what matters most is I feel really good. CROSSING MY FINGERS WEIGH UN IS MAY 16th yikes!!!

Week 2 day 1

Well it's the second week of day 1 and all I can say is the first week was very hard but I pulled through and fought on with willpower :. My body feels good I feel good. I changed my eating eat cut out the bad carbs and sugar eating 5 small meals a day. And drinking lots of water I LOOVE H2o :).

I download an app in my phone called C25k to help me yield endurance with running and it's I like it a lot. I try to incorporate some weight training with cardio working on my arms with 5ib it's burning lol I k own it's only 5ibs LOL. And yes I give my self a cheat day and day off becuz it's important to rest the body and reward yourself and it's Sunday :)
I'm really happy I'm doing this especially with the support of my husband and sister Annie and also my fit fam who give me ideas and help me out especially there words of motivation :) and everyone else.

12 week biggest loser challenge

So I got myself into a 12 week challenge took a picture and sent it in even though I really didn't want to. Thanks to Sonja Huntington for doing this it will help me a lot more :) weighed myself in and next weigh in is may 16th :). We are able to use whatever plan we want and whoever loses the most wins. It's not a diet just like Sonja said its to help us and motivate us to have a healthier lifestyle:) i was scared to do it but I NEED TO AND HERE ISECOND DAY.just want to cut my bad habits soda, bread bread bread and portion control and being Samoan doesn't help lol. I got an app on my phone call C25k and I love it and it kicked my butt lol.

more catching up

lets since early february well Valentines weekend manaia was in the hospital again for a bad eye infection that ended up having her get a TEMP ARTIFICIAL CORNEA TRANSPLANT FOR NOW.  This weekend was very overwhelming for ray and i took manaia in because her eye  was infected and hoping was nothing small. Manaia had an infection in her that formed and ulcer and the ulcer was sucking the Iris part of her and it was making her pupil shape like an oval instead of a circle. I gotta say this was the most me and ray felt overwhelmed with everything that has been happening with manaia not just over the years but last couple of months since its her second time being hospitalized within 3months apart. Manaia was the first case that dr.s at childrens and county have seen with a rare cornea condition so alot of dr.s would come in and ask if they can see her eye till now they are studying her case. She had an emergency surgery and felt like the LONGEST DAY EVER with so much in my mind as to why her?? i know that we shldn't question our heavenly father but just to have faith and know everything witll be ok. Her surgery was the longest 3hrs ever all i cld think of is when i get to see my baby in my arms again. i didnt want to leave to go home and shower as everyone tried to get me to do i cldn't becasue i wanted to be there where she was. We are so greatful and thankful for the love and support that we have from our Amazing family and friends who came to the hospital the same night they transfered manaia to county usc to be there for us but mainly manaia. even the ones who weren't far and wished they cld have been there with us was there in spirit.  So thankful for my Dad who has the power of the Priesthood in our family especially his unconditonal love for manaia and staying with us in the hospital till she came out of recovery along with my stepmom and sister in law brenda. Uncle tony and aunty irene who drove 6hrs from arizona to be there for us and helping me in the hospital. I am very thankful for my husband who together we worked well together as a team. Manaia needs to heal before her next surgery mean time she sees opthomalogists every 2-3 weeks :)

mADE WITH LOVE :)

I finally took the chance to make home made PANI POPO (COCONUT BUNS) BUT not just any PANI POPO my own mothers recipe :) Thanks to my cousin Akiu who my mom taught and gave her recipe to he took the time to video tape it and send it to me on the internet :))))). So i had this recipe for a week and finally at 8:30pm just decided to make it. I was soooo nervous but after i started making the dough i felt my moms spitit around me like she was right there guiding me through it :) I gotta tell you once i put the pani popo in the oven the smell just brought me back soooo many memories of my mom :) If you knew my mom she was the best cook and baker but most of all she was known as one of the best PANI POPO MAKERS. i think my moms cooked was loved soo much by everyone because she cooked with lots of love in heart and i feel that if you cook or bake with love your sharing that love with whom every your doing it for and feeding.. soo here is my PANI POPO AND YES i was nervcous but when my sister took the first bite She was soooo HAPPY AND SOO WAS EVERYONE ELSE  :) they loved it and so did i...looking foward to making more just like my mommy did and shared her pani popo with everyone she loved...

blessed with 5yrs with my best friend

HAPPY 5YR ANNIVERSARY TO ME AND MY LOVE JAN 20TH 2012 :) I am so blessed to have my best friend the father of my children and the love of my life standing right beside me everyday... We been together 11 and married 5 i am soo blessed :) what more can i ask for i have it all right here.  it hasn't been perfect but through it all we still get each other through good the bad and the worst. and i would do it together with him and no one else for the rest of our lifes together..

Ray worked on our anniversary he was pretty bummed but it was ok because we celebrated together on saturday.. My husband told me to go buy me something nice he had a surprise :) and yes i took advantage of going out and buying me somthing new lol...not that ray never takes me to by myself something but this time i did not hesitate lol... My husband and i spent the whole day together while manaia stayed home with rita and the family :) took advantage of that too lol.. He took me LAWRYS RESTRAUNT in beveryly hills :)))) to eat some gooooood steak.. Yes it was good everything the food the service and the people. Dinner was soo nice ray has been soo busy with working felt like we only see eah other before bedtime. with his busy work schedule it was nice to just have some QT with just us too not that we werent missing manaia but it felt nice to catch up talk about us our family and what we want to accompplish this year together. I am so thankful to have such a loving hardworking husband and father to my manaia he does so much to take care of us and to give us the things we want. I look foward to having him right by my side forever and ever and hoping eternaly one day.. I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART RAYMOND.. were hoping to celebrate our 5 yrs renewing our vowels but 10 wld be the best.. we havent had that honeymoon but we will end of february or april we will take a trip somewhere together.. happy annversary my love...

Thankful and GReatul

Wow what a last couple of months we have had that has taught us soo much to be greatful and thankful for. Though its the month of to be thankful for and december to understand the true meaning of Christmas has Opened my eyes to know what family truly means and to be greatful for the people in our lives. You cld never expect the unexpected and when it comes you just Keep your head up be strong and positive and Keep moving no matter what it is. Its taught me how to appreciate life to enjoy it be happy, laugh and smile more. Its been said repeatedly that life is too short and yes it is. I"ve come to appreciate and Love my father in heaven even more after i cried on my knees repeatedly to ask for his help to comfort my babygirl through her hardest times and especially being in the hospital. So greatful for missionaries i've always appreciated them but to see them bless my own child just warmed my heart and to help my faith grow stronger. He is there, he truly is. He has blessed me with a wonderul loving husband and a beautiful daughter. Even if i haven't been to church or done things that he probably isn't happy about i know he is there. One thing that has had me thinking about for a long time is something my husband has said to me while he was gone away for work. ITs rare for my husband to say this but it got me thinking alot and long but it also put a smile on my face. But i know its what we need to do and he is just waiting on me :) I'm ready for change new beginnings not just for myself but also for my family and can't wait.

hospital for manaia

so a couple of weeks ago manaia's eczema got very bad where she ended up in the hospital to be on the IV and Antibioitcs.. She had a very Bad skin infection.. we were in there for 4 days :( 1st night i was by myself with her and it was hard she cldnt sleep and didnt go to sleep till 3am so we were soo tired the next day.  manaia was soo not having it becuz she was ISOLATED :(  and being hooked up to the iV AND GOING POTTY ALOT SHE WASNT HAVING IT. as days went she got better and better and patient lol...We had lots of visitors who came to see manaia her Papa and gma aunties and cuzins. We had the sisters missionaries and the Elders who came to see manaia... and the elders gave manaia a blessing :) i thank them everyday for that. We had surprise visit the next morning From bishop tipeni.We have a wonderful bishop manaia loves bishop though we havent been to church lately we always get a message from him asking how we are doing and especially how manaia is doing. I have no excuse of not going to church but only when manaia's eczema is bad i  dont like taking her anywhere becuz she isn't happy and cant enjoy herself.

Everyday dr. would come check up on manaia before she starts her shift and everyday she see manaia she says she is getting better. We are so thankful for the amazing nurses who took care of manaia and treated her like a princess. All of them and their hospitality. Manaia loved the nurses and made them crack up or entertained them with her personality. I am so greatful for them the dr and our heavenly father. I told my husnband we have to be patient and have faith in my heart i believe that my princess is one of heavenly fathers special children that we as her parents have been blessed with her in our lives.. He wouldn't give us something that we couldnt handle. Sometimes things happen for a reason and my husband told me something that was rare to hear from him and had me thinking about it for a long time.. I knw he is right he is just waiting on me but it puts a smile on my face to know that he has been thinking about it without any pressure from me and anyone else.. this is why i love him soo much. Though he ended up having an emergency surgery to remove his appendix the day manaia came home to hear it again just makes me know he wants to. But he is fine he is okay and i thank the man above for all that he has done to help my little family get better and heal.  what would i do if didnt have heavenly father as a part of my life?? I am blessed and loved to know that he is hear whether i do or not need him he is by my side all the time :)

pumpkin patch, my 30th and halloween :)

im guilty i havnt been to upto date with my blog things just soo busy these couple of months and i lost track of my blog..cldnt believe how fast the time went. heres a little something of what was going on in october we went to the Pumpkin fest @ cal poly pmoman with my sister rita her husband and family and my sis in law brenda and jr. it was thats what i remembered but we all had fun eating snacking going through the corn maze and picking out some pumpkins..

October 26 i turned the Dirty 30 lol...what i can say i feel good and amazing but still cant believe i am 30. My hubby threw me a small surprise bbq with my loved ones :) the saturday before my actuall bday which was on wednesday.. then on my bday hubby and niece made me a cake yumm lol and then Friday night went out with my fam and some good friends to start my 30's with a BANG!!! LOL soo much fun..

Halloween :0 halloween omg kids kids kids kids lol also my niece christinas bday so we had a halloween slash tinas bday @ our house with everyone.. all the kids were dressed made cupcakes goody bags This year manaia was Nemo lol she was sooo cute she had a blast trick or treating with all her aunts uncles and cuzins. WE ended the night with some coffee and a warm fire burning yeahhhh lol.. so hear are a some pictures enjoy!!!

little mrs. independent who has some new Words :)

last couple of  or past months i notice a change in manaia. she likes to dress herself and pick out her own clothes now. Boy if i put on the clothes i picked out we have a little miss attitude who refuse to put it on or have me and ray put her clothes on for her lol..Makes me sad she is growing up and doesn't want our help anymore for now lol..She is becoming more and more independant but were so proud of her :0). Bath time is the craziest because manaia gets very angry at me washing her down lol so we have been letting wash herself down and will rewash her again just to make sure she is extra cleeeaaan...hehehee.With her Lotions and her medicine for her eczema she like to put it on herself but that i have to do myself lol..She cleans up after herself takes her empty plate or cup and puts it in the sink.
Manaia if some of you know her has trouble with her speech or speech delay for the first 4yrs. manaia only had probably less then 5 words she cld say and you wld understand they were 'PUA' , DAdda, and eat eat. Now manaia has about almost twenty words she can say almost putting a sentence together but so proud of where she is right now. Manaia's new Words "RIAH" my niece, sleep, ice cream, french fries, Kiuga my nephew, aunty, uncle , papa, grandpa, apple,  there are more words she says and new ones too..she still has trouble putting in two words together sometimes but she trys and she is getting more and more progressive with her words. she says everyones names but not too clear. But going to speech therapy will help her more :) and talking on the phne too lol..we are very proud of her Love you manaia :)

Today i did the Orange County Heart Walk with my family. Since its been 10yrs since my Mom passed away april 12,2001 i thought i honor her memory by participating in the 5k walk and have a team in memory of her name "CHRISTINA AIONO ". mom died from cardiac arrest so along with my sister Rita and her girls and my manaia we walked  along with hundreds of people who came out to support the cause and to support the survivors. Heart disease is the #1 killer in America but being a samoan to me it seems its the Biggest disease that our polynesian people die from.  If we can get everyone to take better care of themselves as far as eating healthy and exercise we can probably cut down the number of this disease.

3miles wasn't bad it seemed forever but we did it :) While i was walking with my family i just kept thinking about my mom and everyone who lost their loved  ones. I was thinking about i hope that their will be less lives taken and that we all cld teach each other how to take more better care of ourselves. As much i was wanted to cut through i know that i had to keep going and not give up even if i was caring an extra 29ibs on my shoulder aka Manaia lol.. especially with my nieces  walking along and neariah i cld see that she wanted to do the same but i made sure we stayed positive and kept going and not give up till the end, I think this is how the survivors think too or any survivor or anyone that is struggling with a different disease cancer, arthritis, ms, etc, NOT TO GIVE UP! to keep going and pushing and stay positive no matter what we will make it. and thats what we did we made it to THE FINISH LINE..I'm proud of my family and i thank them for coming with me and joining me wish they all would have came but theres always next year. I know my mom was with us the whole way through and smiling with her big beautiful smile waiting for us at the finish line :) she was with us in spirit along with many others. I love you mom i miss you everyday we all miss you and i know we will meET agian someday. I always wish you were still here with us but i know in spirit and in each of our hearts you are.. TILL WE MEET AGAIN :) TEAM CHRISTINA AIONO!!! RIP 4/12/01
